Project Development Objective

To improve the delivery of citizen-centric public services and strengthen state capability in the newly merged areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through enhanced infrastructure, improved agricultural productivity, sustainable water management, and strengthened institutional capacity for effective governance and service delivery.

Project Overview

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rural Investment and Institutional Support Project (KP-RIISP) is a comprehensive development initiative designed to enhance citizen-centric public services and strengthen state capabilities in the newly merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Funded by the World Bank and implemented through a partnership between the Government of Pakistan and the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, this project addresses critical development challenges through strategic investments in infrastructure, agriculture, water management, and institutional capacity building.

The project operates across eight newly merged districts, focusing on creating sustainable development pathways that improve livelihoods, build climate resilience, and strengthen local governance structures.
